What is a Permanent Wave?

The Permanent Wave service at Jolie Spa provides a way to add long-lasting curls or waves to your hair, offering volume and texture. This treatment is part of their texturizing services, which also include hair relaxing and other chemical processes like the Brazilian Blowout and Keratin treatments.

How long does this treatment last?

2-6 months depending on the care and texture of your hair.

How long does this treatment take?

This treatment is scheduled for 1 hour but may take less or more time depending on the length and density of your hair.

Am I a good candidate?

Perms are a great option for anyone that wants curly hair! They work best on hair that is naturally straight or wavy. They can add texture to straight or wavy hair, or create tighter curls in curly or wavy hair. However, perms may not work as well on hair that is already very curly, and could result in frizzy or tight curls. Perms are not recommended for hair that is damaged or fragile, or has damaged hair follicles from heat styling or bleach.

Can I get have color done with a Perm?

Perms are not advisable for hair that is damaged, fragile, or has weakened follicles due to heat styling or bleaching. We cannot perform a perm on bleached or highlighted hair as it may lead to breakage. After receiving a perm, it is important to wait two weeks before applying any color.

Do I need an At Home Regimen?

Adhering to the aftercare instructions given by your stylist is crucial for preserving your perm. Be sure to use a gentle, sulfate- free shampoo and conditioner. You can find sulfate-free products available at Jolie!

What are the DO’s of a Perm?

DO wait at least two days after getting a perm before washing your hair.
DO use a satin hair tie, scrunchie, or silk scarf to protect your hair while you sleep.
DO use a deep conditioner after washing to keep your hair hydrated.
DO air dry your hair, or use a microfiber towel, cotton shirt, or old scarf with minimal friction.

What are the DONT’S of a Perm?
DONT use heat styling tools on your hair.
DONT use products with silicone, alcohol, or sodium lauryl/ laureth sulfate (SLS).
DONT put your hair in a ponytail before washing it.
DONT combine a perm with other chemical treatments for at least a month.
DONT color hair until 2 weeks has passed after treatment

Cancellation Policy– All reservations exceeding $200 will require a credit or debit card to secure booking. We kindly request that cancellations are made at least 24 hours before your appointment. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment will incur a 50% charge of the service fee. Cancellations without notice will be billed 100% of the service cost.
